Mustangs sign former indoor veteran Toney Peters

The Wyoming Mustangs would like to welcome 6'0 230lb Athlete Toney Peters

He attended Wayne High School in Dayton Ohio. He was on the offensive side of the ball his freshman and sophomore year playing quarterback and running back. He eventually moved to the defensive side of the ball and his senior year he received 1st team All-Conference as a safety. He attended Ashland University, redshirted his freshman year. He got some playing time early but eventually got the starting role his last two years. He received 2nd team All-Conference his senior year as a safety/nickel. He also ran indoor track the last two years at Ashland. He received a phone call from an Indianapolis Colts scout a couple of days before the 2018 draft but nothing came about it. He recently played arena ball in Redmond, Oregon for the Oregon High Dessert Storm (American West Football Conference) He moved around playing safety & linebacker, as well as leading the team in interceptions with 9. He received 2nd Team All-Conference as a safety. He has treated each opportunity as a stepping stone to reaching his goal of playing in the NFL. His superhero is his father who has been in his corner since day one & pushes him to be the best player he can be. He is excited to be a part of the Wyoming Mustangs this spring and ready to ball out for his brothers! Welcome to the team!! Go Mustangs!!!
